That's about the same timeframe that Deutsche Bahn projects for some necessary repairs on their already existing network.

I'd like to go there, but not sure if I would ask for a glas of tap water.

Professor Dave wants scientists to be more blunt when calling out grifters, liars and cranks.

Degradation of fish food webs in the Anthropocene The decrease in body size driven by the selective species turnover is widely altering fish food web topology and function.

New paper out examining fish food web degradation in the Anthropocene. We show the structure of aquatic food webs are changing-- even when species richness doesn’t. These signals are strongly associated with decreases in body size within fish communities. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/... 🌐🐠🐑🦈🐟

Therefore I would be more intereted in how many of the screening is done and how many meta analyses are written by people who are not experts in the field.

Quality screening with tick-lists will only produce tokenistic compliance but not quality. The worrying thing about them: screening can be done by people with no understanding of the research topic (or it will be automated and made by machines).

Let's talk about the quality screening. Does your checklist still include a question about the presence of a COI statement? If yes, then it will be biased. (It only tells you in which year the publisher made it a mandatory field in the online submission system). Same with many other check-boxes.

Proud to announce that I effectively executed a rapid-response squirrel displacement strategy to mitigate potential yard intrusions.

Humbled by the unwavering support of my family and local stakeholders.

This experience reinforced the importance of vigilance, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Looking forward to scaling this impact in future engagements.

I once wrote as coi: "getting this paper published in a high profile journal will boost my chances of securig a faculty position and hence my future financial situation". Journal refused to print that -said that's not their definition of coi.

but I admit: to make sure all pieces are really the same size and will gide along smoothly, the circular sander is helpful.

It is interesting: we have a lot of expensive pro power tools, but when it comes to real precision, I am always falling back to hand tools.

World’s fattest parrots set for mating bonanza after bumper berry crop After a four-year hiatus, conservationists in New Zealand are relieved that the flightless kākāpo is once again breeding. Fewer than 300 of the parrots exist.

Happy for them 😊

Though for several countries (including e.g. France) a large part of that energy comes from nuclear power plants. Non-fossil yes, but renewable or clean definitely no.

Next step will be to cut the 15 sliding pieces. They will have a groove on two sides and tounge on the other two sides. For smooth glidibg it should be hard wood. I think I'll go for beech or oak. The frame wil definitely be oak. More about progress soon.
