I think I saw a rip in the fabric of reality out the bus window this morning...

Staying with family who have all the (many, many) Sky sport channels. we have spent the evening learning about the various events we have watched via internet research (eg what does DNI mean in big air ski jump? why is it called skeleton? how long is a curling rink?). Very educational evening!

It is nice to see you pop up here & to know that you're OK. Your light has been missed. But also good on you do for doing what you need to protect your own well-being, very much practicing what you preach!

Another Christmas gift build completed. And I had to start watching Gilmore Girls again 🤷‍♀️

Also, if there's an earthquake in Auckland when I'm at home, I will likely be found under my fabulous collection of precariously balanced boxes.

After spending a few days tidying & rearranging in my craft room, I can confidently state that if I quit work today & spent 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, in my craft-room for the rest of my life, it would still not be enough time to complete all the projects I have supplies for.

Celebrated the second night of 2026 by drinking a whole bottle of prosecco & re-watching Lucifer on Netflix while trying to finish one of last year's stitching projects.
Also, I am officially "has to change glasses to thread a needle"-years-old!

I know right. I've lived such a sheltered life, not a single near death experience to report!

I haven't been reading much recently. Based on some of the tips on my feed today (thanks @kats-garden.nz & @melbailey.bsky.social) I might have to abandon the book I've been slogging through & make a start on one of these beauties.

Finished eating the Christmas cookies just in time to have somewhere to put my new Lego bouquet.

Guests have just departed, now the proper holidaying can begin. Many days with no plans or commitments or places to be- bliss. Bring on the Lego & TV!

After three days of cleaning my house is finally fit to have overnight guests who arrive this afternoon. That's the price of slacking off on cleaning all year!

Arrived at pak'n'save Albany at 7am, leaving at 8.11am with a boot full of groceries. Not bad for Christmas eve. There sure were a lot of people up early to beat the rush!

Thanks to my husband's very eclectic Christmas playlist, I've just learned Wheatus once released "Christmas Dirtbag", a re-worked version of their one hit. They're singing the wrong words. It's like the "Christmas/Love is all around" debacle all over again.
