JUMPSCARE!

I'm on day 3 of learning Unreal Engine 5. I modeled the hangar, but the troopers, guns, and ships were all found on sketchfab. Super enjoying how this engine works so far. We'll see how things go when I start animating and making playable characters though.

I'm finally going to be participating in a game jam starting at 5pm CST tonight. Details to follow in the linked video, but I should have about a month to make a polished demo for a new NES game!

What you probably can't see though is I even animated the scanlines using the frame count as a variable to provide the slightest distortion so its not uniform throughout the whole animation. Finally there are some blur and distortion effects added after each frame was rendered in the compositing tab

Then the background is an image sequence made of 24 individual images i made in the 2005 equivalent of photoshop. You can see in the scene setup picture, that the scanlines are a physical object i placed in front of the camera.

I had Breezy 3D scan my head with an app called Polycam. I then learned some basic, but varied forms of animation here. For example, my head is simply revolving around the Z axis. The globe is doing that, AND animated along a path.

New 3D project just dropped! I've been trying to learn something new with every 3D project I start, and with this one I learned a LOT.

If I knew more about how things worked, I'd say withhold paying/filing taxes. Something about taxation without representation and so on

Made my first at-home 3D scan tonight. I used an old Xbox Kinect, and it made a surprisingly good model!

If you've ever wondered what I do for a living, it's basically this but for buildings.
