There are some precedents for heirs of a previous regime to come back in power after a revolution. Both the Bourbons and the Bonapartes did it in France. And as people have said, Bongbong did is in the Philippines and Fujimori's kid had/has a credible shot in Peru.

Tbh, while the premiere was fine, I'm not going to stick with it, esp when there's a far better 'older wiser version of the young doctor you used to love to see on tv' show on the air right now.

I caught the premiere, it did a decent job of briefly explaining every character's archetype (and also, how some of those archetypes are now a product of a past era). It's also probably useful to understand that Zach Braff's flights of the imagination were also a third of the show in the first run.
