What annoys me about this debate is no one seems to have talked to a petroleum geologist who’s looked at the surveys in the Taranaki basin for the last 50 years. If they had, the issue is more stark: there’s no easily drillable gas fields to drill. Drill baby drill doesn’t work if there’s no gas.

It's fair to say that it was a couple of years ago and details are hazy. I don't recall getting any alerts recently esp when we did have a decent quake back in March that shook things up.

I have received the alert on my Google Pixel a couple of times now. We live in an area of the South Island, NZ susceptible to quakes.

Just Home Assistant by itself would work these days. When I originally set mine up the inbuilt automation wasn't good enough but now it's great and I just haven't got around to moving everything back from NodeRED

I've done multiples of both. A dedicated bike is *always* going to be better and generally has components designed for having the extra torque of a motor attached. But Bafang\Tongsheng kits are cheap and if you're careful then they're fine...

They don't have customer support as such but you can get all the info you need from their portal including remotely testing your ONT etc before logging a call. Then you get to talk to a real network engineer. This is *not* the ISP for your parents.
