October reading stats! I finished Assassin’s Fate / the Realm of the Elderlings at the beginning of the month and basically nothing has matched up. Not sure it ever will.

I have been dressed as Percy all day though, so yeah. 💀

Felt sad about missing the @highrollersdnd.bsky.social live show today in Bristol. Decided to start re-listening through Aerois. 😅

Ah, I see. Assume you’ve read it? I was pleasantly surprised how much I loved it. I think Dusk himself might be one of my fave Cosmere characters.

Highly recommend playing DND on a Monday night. Makes for a very fun start to the week and helps to mute the general stress of a Monday work day.

Weightlifting for DMs but it’s just carrying all your heavy books around. 😄

Well, the Internet going down is certainly one way to put a pause in what was otherwise a busy and intense day at work. I guess it’s tomorrow’s problem now. Can I go and play DND now?

I’ve decided I’m going to re-listen to the whole first episode whilst I work today and this is how I will imagine everyone. 😍

Watched the first episode of Campaign 4 yesterday and yes, as predicted, Liam was breaking my heart within minutes.… and I love it. Tragic bard, I guess you’re my favourite. #criticalrole

I'm looking forward to the third part of the Assassin's Apprentice graphic novel coming out at the end of the year. I'd also like to try and create some more RotE art at some point. And I'm sure it won't be too long until I pick up the first book again. Until then, please read these books too!!

Shoutout @buckkeepradio.bsky.social for their indepth + hilarious backcatalogue. Making me think about things I'd never considered + emphasising thoughts about characters/moments in the series. It's nice to feel like I'm having a convo about this beloved (😉) series, even if I'm silent in the convo.

In 2017 the last book in the last series, Assassin’s Fate, was released and although I didn’t meet Hobb myself I did get a signed copy of the book when she did a signing in MK This is the only physical RotE book I have, apart from the graphic novels, so it’s pretty special that it’s signed to me.

I first read Assassin’s Apprentice in 2012 and proceeded to read all of the other books in the epic Realm Of The Elderlings universe over the next 5 years. Hobb soon became my top author of all time. Perhaps slightly overshadowed by Sanderson in recent years but I'm back to Hobb being No. 1 now.

My Realm Of The Elderlings re-read is complete and I'm pondering how long I should leave it until I start all over again. No one does characters like Robin Hobb does and no other books make me feel all the emotions that these do, especially the ones with Fitz and the Fool. I love them so much…

September reading stats. 📚 I think this is the lowest count for non-‘picture’ books I’ve read in a month, with only two here. But what excellent two books they are! I was really trying to finish book three as well but it’s a long trilogy (Fitz and the Fool by Robin Hobb).

Unclear what the ghostly cat is all about but they were advising the other cat not to trust the evil cat lady and other brainwashed cats.

Baking cookies for the first session of my new DND campaign starting tomorrow night. I’m not usually a baker*. Clearly I want to make a good impression. 😅🍪

*I have taste tested the first batch and they are all good. 😮‍💨

Why does the theme song change part way through Frieren season one? I don’t watch that many anime shows, so maybe it’s standard? I really liked the original theme. 😅
