On this painful morning, my thoughts are with the families of Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz – the two men tragically killed outside their synagogue yesterday – and with the whole Jewish community who have been the target of a vicious attack on their holiest day.
Antisemitism, terrorism and hatred can be defeated. But only if we all stand united against them. This attack didn’t happen in a vacuum. Antisemitism is rife on Britain’s streets. British Jews have been living in fear, especially since Hamas’s horrific terror attacks of October 7th.
That must end now. We all must come together to make sure our Jewish friends and neighbours feel safe walking on their streets and worshipping at their synagogues.
Those who preach antisemitic hatred, those who incite violence against Jews – whether online, on marches or anywhere else – must be stopped. It is never acceptable.
I know that, together, we can make sure that our British values of decency, tolerance and respect will prevail.

Ross MP: ‘Local bank was crucial when I was seriously struggling financially’ Big banks accused of corporate greed as they ‘continue to neglect duty of public service under the veil of changes in customer preference’.

The planned closure of my local bank branch in Tain is personal. I’ve used it since I was a teenager.

When I struggled financially in the 90s, the advice I received from this bank was crucial.

Online banking can never replace this customer support.

£20m Highland cash boost must help ‘neglected’ areas of region Jamie Stone says £20m of funding aimed at improving public spaces should be used to reach “neglected” parts of the Highlands outside of Inverness.

I welcome the UK Government’s decision to allocate up to £20 million for our local high streets and shared spaces.

After years of SNP centralisation, I want to see this investment go beyond Inverness to support areas that have long been neglected.

MP secures review of ‘access to cash’ for Golspie in hope of establishing a banking hub in the village The Bank of Scotland branch in Golspie closed in February, leaving Sutherland without any physical bank branches.

With the news of yet more bank closures across Ross-shire, I am actively looking for ways to protect and restore these services across our Highland high streets.

Another successful Lib Dem conference.🎉

Our party is committed to decency, tolerance and the rule of law. I've never been prouder of our values in the face of growing hatred and division.

To top things off, a truly glorious weekend by the seaside! ☀️

Very pleased to join my colleagues, @willforster.bsky.social and @amcarmichaelmp.bsky.social in calling on the Chancellor to freeze spirits duty in the upcoming Autumn Budget.

The value of the Scotch Whisky industry should not be underestimated.

Last week, I wrote to LINK to ask them to reconsider their decision not to open a banking hub in Golspie.

I'm pleased that they've agreed to carry out a cash access assessment of the village, on account of the strong argument I've proposed.

This is a positive step forwards.

Did you know you can request to speak to your MP by 'green carding' them in Parliament?

This week I met with a constituent who shares my concerns about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. I was very glad to meet her and have such an important and heartfelt discussion in person.

Hydrogen is an excellent source of energy which can create ammonia to produce an agricultural fertiliser that is more affordable to our hard-pressed farmers.

In the current climate, we should be doing all we can to produce essential resources within our own borders.

I've had constituents in Cromarty tell me they are experiencing periods with no signal or broadband coverage.

This is dangerous and unacceptable. I've asked the Government to look into this urgently and I'll be following up to make sure action is taken to resolve this issue.

The Hedgers have it | Parliament Politics Magazine Every day when I walk through the Members’ Lobby and under the Churchill arch into the Chamber of the House of Commons, I pass Lloyd George on my right. I

The Hereditary Peers Bill got me thinking about Lloyd George and the 'People's Budget'.

The Commons never have taken kindly to an undemocratic subversion of the public's will...

Supremacy by blood shall also become history. The stuff of an unjust past.

We can make great use of hydrogen in the Cromarty Firth Green Freeport, so I’m glad the Minister agreed with me that a more strategic planning of the grid would be wise in order to maximise the benefits of energy production in the Far North.

Stone calls for review of defibrillator regulation for Caithness and far north Jamie Stone MP has called for a review of defibrillator regulations to make them more accessible and efficient in rural communities such as Caithness.

Defibrillators are life-saving equipment. Making them accessible, affordable and efficient should be a priority of any government.

I would welcome investment into Dounreay and the nuclear energy sector. It has a skilled workforce, a fully licensed site and a supportive local population.

The Scottish Government must reconsider blocking new nuclear power generation in Scotland.

Health does not respect regions or borders, and no one’s life should be put at greater risk because they live in a remote community.

TRACC campaign call: ‘Tain and Easter Ross must not be left behind’ “This is not just about Tain - it’s about making sure every child in every part of Scotland learns the skills that could one day save their life.”

Scotland could have a net loss of over 150 pools by 2040.

Learning to swim is crucial and frankly a matter of life and death. We need more money for local projects so that swimming pools - such as that in my home town of Tain - survive.

I enjoyed joining them in Wick this morning to see how things have changed, and I even learnt a few tricks of the trade📮
