Black & white screenshot from the film Underground by Anthony Asquith. We see Bert's hand close a cupboard door to reveal to us, that Kate, Nora Baring, is standing in a corner behind him looking at him intently. He is not yet aware she is there.

A sequence of five black & white photographic stills from the film Underground by Anthony Asquith. Nell, Elissa Landi, hides behind a door as Bert, Cyril McLaglen, opens the door to look into the room but closes it again without seeing her. In two of the stills we see both of them either side of the open door.

'For the Picture Fans of 2025', as published in Motion Picture magazine, August 1925, showing Lillian Gish and Colleen Moore being immortalized in sculpture for their performances in Romola and So Big (both 1924). A little eerie in the sense that only one of those still exists.

Superb. An amazingly bleak Eastern European-style art movie masquerading as a Western. One scene in particular, where the camera follows the gang of crazed robbers around as they force the women of the community to dance with them at the local saloon, could easily have come from a Bela Tarr movie.
