My brain decided very early on in the first book (Hyperion) that the Consul is David Tennant and Martin Silenus is a somewhat heftier Martin Short.

Finished reading The Fall of Hyperion by Dan Simmons earlier today, and it’s honestly one of the best books I’ve ever read.
