My mother & I turned the cranberry sauce residue into a cocktail a couple of years ago, by rinsing the food processor out with rum & gingerale. So vodka in the pie crust would be in keeping with the season.

The board helps a lot with that. If you've got a good solid wooden board (or even better, marble or other stone), the dough will roll out faster & better than if you use a dinky plastic or bamboo board. They do cost more, but they'll last forever, just like a Dutch oven or cast iron skillet.

They're not trained, period. That's why they go after innocent people rather than criminals.

When in doubt, add more butter. And make sure it's well chilled.

I cheat & use the frozen puff pastry. It rolls out so easily & everyone raves about how light the crust is.

White people (or at least my family) eat all day, but breakfast & lunch are basically buffets set out that everyone grazes off of away from where the cooking & prepping is going on. Then, when it's time to take the turkey out, everyone's kicked out or drafted as a sous-chef to get dinner finished.
