Zin’s original hair color was light sandy brown and she had green eyes. I didn’t want her to stand out too much either brightly colored hair but I wanted her eyes to be a little interesting.
Post-ShB she’s now blonde with pale green eyes.

Stepping away from screens was important.
I don't talk openly about a lot of the action I take for various things aside from signal-boosting for some causes, but I do have this: Remember to step away and re-calibrate your sense of place in the world from time to time.

Went out with roommate to play Pokemon Go at various parks by the lake. Got to see plenty of birds too.

Some conservatives here think that secular young Iranians would be happy if America would come and liberate them. What would you say to them?

Democracy, contrary to what they try to tell us, it’s not a paper that you hang on the wall and then you have a democracy. Democracy is a social evolution. It is something cultural. Iranians, they have become much more secular, and they are ready for democracy, but they have to fight themselves for democracy, and the only thing that other countries can do is to understand their fight and help them in their fight.

They [America] talk about the human rights in Iran … how is it that the United States makes the biggest deals with China, and China is far from respecting human rights? What about Saudi Arabia? If you want to talk about an inquisition, the Iranian regime is far from being an inquisition. We have almost a free press, people leave, women have the right to study, they drive, they work. Saudi Arabia, they don’t have anything like that! Talk about human rights in Saudi Arabia! Why doesn’t anyone go and put a bomb in Saudi Arabia and kill the king?

Do you think it’s ironic that, in the face of American threats, you almost find yourself defending the Iranian regime?

Absolutely, but if we want a democracy, the Iranian people have to do it themselves. The Americans say they want a democracy in Iran, and at the same time, when the Iranians wanted to become democratic in 1953 with [Mohammad] Mosaddeq and to nationalize our oil, the CIA came and made a coup d’état in my country. Why do you want me to believe that they want to come and make a democracy? We have to make our democracy!

There are many things that I wish for in my country β€” I want my country to be free, I want my country to be democratic, I don’t want any journalists to go to jail because of an article they wrote in my country. But if the United States of America attacked my country, no matter what, I would be against the United States.

Do you see similarities between the Christian fundamentalists in our government and the mullahs in Iran?

They’re the same! George Bush and the mullahs of Iran, they use the same words! The mullahs of Iran say we have God on our side; he has God on his side, too. Both of them are convinced that they are going to eradicate evil in the world. But when these words come out of the mouth of a mullah, it’s normal. It’s a shame that the president of the biggest secular democracy in the world talks with the same words as the mullahs. It’s extremely scary.

Do you have any advice for secular Americans who are faced with living in a country that’s increasingly governed by religious fundamentalists?

If I have any advice, it’s that every day that you wake up, don’t say, β€œThis is normal.” Every day, wake up with this idea that you have to defend your freedom. Nobody has the right to take from women the right to abortion, nobody has the right to take from homosexuals the right to be homosexual, nobody has the right to stop people laughing, to stop people thinking, to stop people talking.

If I have one message to give to the secular American people, it’s that the world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don’t know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same.

I love the functionality Brio already has, and while this would open up so many possibilities, I am very concerned about what happens if this is detectable, despite the safeguards. I don't want to lose Brio entirely over something that puts third party tools back in the crosshairs.

My new Starbird bags I debuted at con a few weeks ago! I'm really happy with them, the printing on the side panels came out great.

Talk about your suppressed crushes. Zin has always been flustered by tall, confident women and Moenbryda swept in like a hurricane. Seeing that there was some sort of relationship between her and Urianger, Zin quickly bottled that up and tried to focus on who she was rather than how pretty she was.

She has! Not as much as she'd like but that's true of so many of her friends. But if she's in the area, she will drop by to share some of what she's been learning and developing with Bardic skill. Having gone through the trauma she has, she understands better what he went through.

Zin has conflicted but ultimately sympathetic feelings about Hermes. Her Azem was a cousin of Hermes, so she wonders how much of Euterpe's feelings color her perception. She doesn't fully understand how he could fall so far as to make the decisions he did, but she wishes things had been better.

A bipedal red fox paints a rainbow across the sky. They have a determined look on their face.

To the right of the rainbow are segments of text from newspaper articles about grim news for LGBTQIA+ folks, especially trans folks.

On the left, there are flowers on the ground, with butterflies flittering about. The discouraging words are illegible faint smudges.

Thank you for answering <3 I've always been curious but a bit shy on directly asking, because I didn't want it to sound dismissive or anything. (Hooray for memes that encourage asking these questions!)
I find the history and dynamic to be really interesting as a character study of both of them.

Bonefields
By Jay Hulme

                        When you die, they say,
we'll know who you truly were; vultures
of morality, picking us out of ourselves.
Perverse sky burial, bodies stretched out
on sky towers of hatred. No ritual in this
but the pain.
This will not be how it ends.
I refuse my uncreation. These wings
become me; this splintering holds me.
My marrow returns to the sky, the earth,
the creation from whence I came. They say
once, my atoms were birds; they become so
again. They say stars. I say vultures.
                         When we lay down together
in the bone fields of despair you must tell me:
how can you fear an ending that's the same
as where you began?

I am often to be found caring for the unknown dead, who emerge, shattered, from their ancient and forgotten graves. Collecting them, burying them, praying them back to their rest. It makes me think, sometimes, of the transphobic refrain that in a thousand years our bones will somehow betray us.

Can we be respectful of other players who can't do an event right away because of timezones, work, etc, but would still like to be surprised by what NPCs show up, what cute lines get said, etc etc? Can we try out waiting like a day before broadcasting details on social media?
