I'm planning to go on the Tiree ferry as far as the island of Coll, before the ferry returns from Tiree to pick me up for the ride back to Oban.

That means the ferry must make port in Coll TWICE, and the crew aren't sure whether that will be possible. Let's see...

Went visit daughter/grand daughter in Bristol. Rode this coming home from Bristol to Exeter. Did not like the std class seats. Gave me backache in an hour. Oh well. Might just be me, but the lumbar support, I thought, was too high up the back.

Tbh, now you mention it, I wish carriers would charge for excess luggage as on certain trains tourists with massive cases are making the trains very difficult for other people. I travel with just a small bag, so this makes this train attractive for me 😉

The direct train from Chur to Basel takes 2 hours 18 minutes. But if you want to go via the "Gold Coast" on Lake Zürich, then you'll need four trains and three changes. Swiss railways are an integrated service so this should be a breeze. But will it be?

I'm on the first Caledonian Sleeper service for Fort William that's called in at B'ham International. Will it open up more of the market to people that live in the Midlands and maybe the South West too?

Have you ever looked at a bus meeting the Javelin at Ashford to take people through Le Shuttle to Calais for onward connections? It might not beat Eurostar, but it would compete with FlixBus which takes 8-9hrs London-Paris. Also maybe popular with people in SE England to avoid trip to London
