Many flat worms (planaria) are capable of fission (dividing into two).
Round worms (heart worms) can lay eggs.
Segmented round worms (earthworms) can regrow after amputation.
Huts look like the latter so I'm going to say someone chops them in half with a shovel and you end up with two.

I'm curious how folks make sure that their students are learning anything about writing by using track changes? I'm finding some students are likely just using "accept all" and not bothering to read the edits or understand. Besides going back to corrections on paper what's the other option?

It would be helpful to look at longer term trends. On a year to year basis I may or may not attend due to a variety of factors like location, funding, and what my lab has to contribute. I didn't attend @entsocamerica.bsky.social in 2024 but did in 2025 and it being in Portland was not a huge factor.

It's confirmed, Hemimetabolous and Holometabolus are reversed in that figure.
