You ever just speak to your best friend after sometime of only communicating through text. Then get so enthralled in conversation 2 hours just vanish in minutes?

And lastly, sorry to blow up but it's a lot I'm summarizing, ending with this. Truly understanding and mastering the basics. Cliche, I know, but it's done a lot for me recently.

Studying from multiple artists who are better than you, I do like 3 currently. Trying to breakdown and figure out their style and methods. First using reference and take notes then try to apply that to a work of your own. Reading art books and videos on "studying effectively".

It's a couple things actually. Gesture drawing daily does more than I once thought. The way I study anatomy, after spending some time doing static studies. I started going over like my structure or gestures studies, filling in the anatomy from memory, only pulling from reference when I'm stuck.

One of the most painful and motivating realizations I've discovered this last month is that I've been practicing art wrong. Been stagnant for years and made more progress in the last 3 weeks than in prior year.

Batman year one was such a fun read. Very Noir and no super villains yet. Seeing the mistakes Bruce makes while dawning the cowl for the first time and how Jim Gordon had to fight against crime and his own department.

I would describe this as a calm before the storm. Lots of set up, not the usual high octane story of red rising. I enjoyed it regardless, I can see why it isn't talked about as much as the others. However, I feel it was necessary for the new era Pierce Brown was foreshadowing.

Did I mention I love Treasure Planet? A lot of my friends don't even know it exists. Not even my older sister who has almost the same tastes in media and animation as I do. The relationship between Silver and Jim is what keeps me coming back to it. That speech he gave was inspiring.

Can't forget when my soul left my body and started to levitate hearing Passion by Uatda Hikaru for the kingdom hearts Ad when I was a kid. Still has the same effect today when I randomly come across it.

Common side effects and especially Pantheon, do not get enough love as animated shows.

Not gonna lie, the way Oliver was written to love Mark and Debbie was pretty cool.

These are so good, I came to the conclusion that I need to learn to draw backgrounds. I am yet to start.

My wife caught me after midnight sneaking a few chapters of Iron Gold, book 4 in red rising. I was treated like a common criminal. Apparently I'm banned from losing sleep to read 😒.

Developing the secondary character as well. Don't think I'm going to add any more main characters for the story. The aim is finishing, not creating more reasons to delay.

That song choice for the latest episode of invincible was just cruel.

I have 2 comic ideas in mind, and this is an exploration of what I want the main character to look like. I'm feeling this more than the first iteration.

The dates decided legs will be practiced. I noticed my sketches have gotten a lot cleaner with my confident lines. Will try to go over them with pen on the next iterations.

Understated feeling- Being sent a song randomly by a close friend that they know you will love.

So I finished my last day of arm practice week. Will start working on more finished art along with my practice now. I learned a lot, I also want to do less rough structures once I pass day 3 during my next study.

The last 2 days of arm practice. It's this strange feeling of accomplishment understanding how to draw it at different angles. Still a ways to go and one day left of my week of practice.

I finished off February with 2 great books. But March, is the beginning of my return to the red rising Saga. Where Golden Son (book 2) is still one of the best things I've read and morning star (book 3) kept that momentum. I am beyond hyped to start Iron Gold tonight.

Almost missed a day, but got it in time, went through with only erasing once. The confidence with these studies has gone all the way up. And muscles are going in the right places.

Reading #wordsofradiance, there was a scene in the depths of the shattered planes that reminded me of something . Then it clicked, the Zuko and Kiatara scene from Avatar the last Airbender. The same energy I tell you.

My fellow 6 am train catchers and I play a very dangerous game. Where we leave our homes with only a minute or so to spare, every now and then you see us all running full tilt to cross the track at the toll of the warning bell. We never learn.

So....lost time playing Hades. This might be an odd statement. They look rougher today but I can honestly say this is the most confident I've been drawing these so far and I understood most of the structures

That time I got up in the middle of the night and made a #redrising bookmark because I couldn't find my other ones.

Okay so I'm designing my characters while I write the story instead of "making up everything as I go along". Previously that unstructured mindset led to me not finishing a single comic idea. So hopefully this new approach helps me to help myself finish the comic.
