It was a pleasure meeting Dr Rakan Nasreddine the minister of public health of Lebanon on behalf of the LSIDCM. We discussed the alarming antimicrobial resistance in the country and the importance of collaborating with the ministry to address AMR as a One Health approach.

Proud to support the next generation of infectious diseases specialists as they present complex and thought-provoking cases from leading medical universities across Lebanon. This interactive session is a must-attend for clinicians, fellows, and students interested in real-world ID challenges.

It was a pleasure to have participated in this important initiative with the WISH Program, UNFPA, Ministry of Public Health, and other stakeholders to develop the National Lebanese Guidelines for STIs. The meeting was held at AUBMC and marked a valuable step toward advancing sexual health in Lebanon

On WHO #HandHygieneDay, the Infection Control Program at AUBMC led awareness activities across clinical areas to promote hand hygiene and patient safety. We also created this Arabic video to engage staff, patients, and visitors. Let’s keep hands clean and care safe!

Attending ESCMID Global in Vienna and seeing old friends was very joyful. Attending Medical Grand Round today with my daughter Sima Sharara currently training in ID at Johns Hopkins presenting one of the challenging cases brought a different level of joy and pride

Dr. G. Ralph Corey shaped countless lives—mine included. I’m proud to call myself his mentee. His belief in me changed my life. More than a mentor, he was family. His photo still hangs in my office. I’ll always be grateful and think of him often, especially our time in Beirut.
