Gundam has a solid foundation of very strong themes (war bad, inequality bad, giant robots are cool) that can be retold over and over again without really exhausting the basic ideas.

That said, I think there's a strong case to be made that the "Best" Gundams lean on "inequality bad", not "war bad".

Dog: Inspired by "Princess re:Connect DIVE" or somesuch word salad. Based on a mobile game, saw the first couple of episodes and concluded the show would have been considerably improved if the MC was just a dog.
