Don't forget car manufacturers won't just experience a 25% increase in their costs. Raw materials and car parts cross the Canadian border an average of 6 times so we are talking exponential cost increases they simply can't avoid. They will have to pass them on.

AI has actually been around for decades yet here we are.
GenAI, which is what's new, may take some easy jobs but not more than any other previous technical revolutions we've seen.

Many are irreplaceable. If you are a nanny or a school teacher or a farmer I think your job is safe.

Very little gets here other than California wines and even that is rare. And most of the US spirit brands get made here in Europe anyway :D

Tariffs are good in theory but always end in disaster in practice.

History proved this time&again:

-The Smoot-Hawley Tariff worsened the Great Depression
-Reagans 80s tariffs on Japan hurt US carmakers
-Trumps China tariffs raised costs for Americans

Hopefully this time around the lesson sticks
