I'm not vegan but my best friend is and we eat/cook together without issues. But I have a Thanksgiving duck story; when I was vegetarian my Southern grandmother roasted a duck for me because she "knew I was vegetarian ." We normally ate Virginia ham for the holidays. Sorry you got bashed.

Still writing my memoir, but took a break today to start the "Rita and her Nails" textile piece. The nails are sewn down with pink metallic floss. Will be adding lace and sequins. Shine on, Rita!

I just added making textile art to writing my memoir, working 2 jobs, cooking meals, maintaining my home, co-hosting a monthly writers group + an open mic, and attending a weekly writers group. Add socializing, daydreaming, and reading and it looks impossible. Any ideas?

I sew my own shirts and get many requests for custom shirts. When I tell friends the minimum charge would be $250 they're horrified. Ex: Shirt I made with contrast cuff lining/collar stand.

Got my covid booster last week and everything under the universe last December/January because the writing was on the wall.

I took a break from memoir writing to make a "What is Sex?" bingo card for our zine. I've been so uni-focused on writing that it was refreshing to make visual art. I need to do it more often. The memoir is going well though.

I grew up mostly in Iran and am writing my memoir. Read part of it in my writers group and was shocked that most people in the group didn't know what SAVAK was and that a 5-year-old was cognizant of them. If you know, you know.

I nearly crossed state lines to New Hampshire, but MA stepped up so I didn't have to. Agree; there's something about the phrase "crossed state lines" that feels very unruly.
