Only restorative justice can heal wounds instead of leaving scars. But it requires great courage - to face one's own mistakes and to face the pain of others. I hope that neither side has completely lost this courage.

A true alliance should not be built on silent condoning of harm. Perhaps we should push governments to use diplomacy and mediation to restrain violence, rather than being drawn into the conflict and endorsing the atrocities of either party.
