In practice, it was turning out to be a terrible idea, and not because something was going wrong-- in fact, they were ahead of the predicted schedule, as Lucy herself had told them. The problem was… well, how Higuchi’s heart was suffering severe distress. Even if there was a plan in store that required all three being there at the same time. It had been her idea, after all. “We can bring plus ones, and we will pay for anything you need to make yourself a fitting gown too.” In a matter of seconds, Lucy let out a high-pitched shriek. Then, she burst into laughter. “I’d love to! But… bold of you to assume I don’t have a gown collection already, waiting for a chance to be worn outside.”

As expected, she was in front of a full body mirror, even if the only new piece of clothing Louisa had acquired by virtue of her girlfriend helping her into was a sweater. One Lucy had made from scratch with just Louisa’s measurements and some fabrics her eyes had lingered on when accompanying the redhead on an errand precisely meant for buying sewing supplies. Such a gift, by the way, had been a total surprise until Lucy mentioned having it ready-- she might be the Guild’s strategist, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t get outsmarted, after all.

And it hadn’t been literally like that in reality, but Lucy’s hand did work magic with cloth, needle and thread. “I knew you’d love it!!” Rather than feeling coy about it, Lucy chose to celebrate her obvious triumph (or rather the confirmation of it) by hugging her from behind, peppering her cheeks with kisses Louisa received with the biggest of smiles.
