βAndorβ Can Teach Us a Lot About Nonviolent Resistance, Too
Andor is quickly becoming canon for experts on insurgencies and armed rebellions. But it has a lot to say about nonviolent civil resistance, too.
Today, I wrote for @wpr.bsky.social on Andor and its lessons for nonviolent resistance.
Andor is truly a masterpiece, and my writing can't do it justice. Still, I hope you find as much inspiration in the show (and this commentary) as I did!

DISASTROUS. This means they will send people to horrific situations with no due process β in direct violation of promises the Solicitor General made to the Court in previous cases.
This greenlights sending people to be enslaved in Libya or tortured in any random foreign country.

Army Officials Pushed Back on Pop-Up MAGA Shop Ahead of Fort Bragg Trump Speech
Ahead of President Donald Trump's rally-style appearance at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, on Tuesday, Army officials raised alarms over a vendor planning to sell Trump-branded merchandise on site.
"However, no service members are expected to be admonished in any way, with multiple Army officials explaining that, despite rules very likely being broken, holding troops to account when goaded by the president, who is ultimately the boss, would be impossible."

Domestic Deployment of the Military: The Past, Present, and Potential Future
Since the founding of the United States, domestic deployment of the military has been a move of last resort; that may be about to change.
In 1992, the Marines were called into LA.
An LAPD officer yelled 'cover me' which to the police means to prepare to shoot if necessary. But for the Marines, it means to cover with gunfire. They shot 200 bullets instantly into a home with three kids inside.
