11.08.2025 00:28 β π 705 π 106 π¬ 11 π 6Hello from fabulous, fabulously hot Las Vegas. A year ago, I was fine flying Avelo Airlines out of here. But after that company stooped to operating inhumane deportation flights for ICE--and then sent its lawyers after @wandrme.paxex.aero for a campaign calling that out--they are on my no-fly list.
08.08.2025 18:55 β π 285 π 90 π¬ 13 π 3I agree, the Wells Fargo estimate from a few months ago of the stock at $120 valuation makes way more sense than where it is now

08.08.2025 13:18 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The nearly impossible time I had to try to find a photo (in-house or from an normal person) of the inside of an Air Jamaica A340 business class does not surprise me that even smaller airlines don't have any in house photos in 2025.
07.08.2025 20:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 060% more seats for almost 2x the guarantees, vs an ERJ-145 12xW. If I were the city I'd pick American, purely from the cost.
07.08.2025 17:08 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I expect, down the road, another announcement for flights out of ORD. (I think it will come with the announcement of XLR flights from JFK-LAX.) I can also see them making an announcement on a cabin refit, but not sure if they're feeling in the mood for intensive CapEx
07.08.2025 13:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think the only refits they have announced (for now) are the 77Ws? (They have the A320 family refits, but that's different.) I believe they expect 2-3 more 789Ps for the year, and 2-3 more XLRs (assuming they get seats). There will probably be enough capacity to add a few more destinations.
07.08.2025 13:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Also, expanded capacity to Tokyo from DFW and LAX. DFW goes back to 77W (it flew for a while pre-COVID) and 772s for both LAX-HND flights (also few pre-COVID for a while, a big boost in capacity).
07.08.2025 13:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0These seem so few, given the new 78Ps and possible A321XLRs. I suspect there will be a few more announced once they have seats certified for the XLRs. Maybe a new rotation from JFK to MAN. Surprised none from ORD. I expect more flights announced soon. Also, most of these are 788s.
07.08.2025 13:11 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Continuing claims are high, which means less people are getting jobs. Those with jobs are likely trying to spend the least in case they get laid off. Overall consumer spending/consumer sentiment is worsening by the week. All the warning signs are blinking red, and yet we're up ~.5% today pre mkt.

06.08.2025 12:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Huh, I wonder why ANA would let go of a perfectly good/young 789. Tepid international growth expectations?

06.08.2025 11:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If this happens, DC needs to become absolutely ungovernable. People leaving objects on the street to cause traffic. MTA taking mass sick leave. Prostests to bring back Bunker Don. Civil disobedience when possible, if not, slow down all work to the point it's pulling teeth. DC needs to be a state.
06.08.2025 00:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0These results match the vibe. Rs doing a good job at pissing everyone off, and some doing an especially great job. If Peltola runs for governor, she can win, especially if an R primary is acrimonious. Senate might be toss-up if the economy tanks. I'm surprised there weren't any numbers on Murkowski

05.08.2025 16:26 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's not just "this person is willing to spend $x on this flight", the person may pick another legacy airline that charges non-AI pricing or a ultra low cost airline. Alternatively, as discretionary spending budgets shrink, people may choose to not fly altogether.
05.08.2025 16:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think they'll ultimately apply to join the JV and likely get accepted, similar to the way AY is a member of the JV (out of the way, in an area where BA/IB won't launch flights). They might restrict Alaska/AA from cooperating out of LAX as a minor carve out. Otherwise, I can't see a valid objection
05.08.2025 13:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I agree from a timing perspective. I think they should aim to join the TPAC JV before the end of the year and the TATL JV by next summer. (Not sure how fast the applications will move.) I can also see them partnering more closely with Qantas for the Australia LAX/SFO/SEA (if they relaunch) flights.
05.08.2025 12:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The combative approach from blue state Dem governors and the passive/tepid approach from Senate/House Dems I think shows the divide in the party. There's more appetite for putting up a fight and Senate Dems (especially) aren't meeting the moment. Hopefully, this will lead to a change in tactics
05.08.2025 12:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My thoughts exactly. I don't think there's a strong argument against it, since AA has all but abandoned Seattle LH flying, and they wouldn't otherwise launch flights from AA gateways

05.08.2025 11:40 β π 13 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Boeing as early as Aug. 5 is expected to make its first maiden flight of a 777-9 in nearly five years, according to two people familiar with the companyβs planning. Painted white but earmarked for eventual use by Singapore Airlines, the new fifth test aircraft, registered N2007L, is being tasked with high intensity radiated field (HIRF) testing to evaluate how systems respond to electromagnetic interference. No fewer than 20 production 777-9s sit between this test aircraft and WH004, Boeingβs fourth dedicated test aircraft. WH004 first flew in September 2020 and was placed into extended storage when Boeing returned the aircraft to flying status in May to conduct cabin and environmental control systems testing. The Air Current on July 28 reported Boeing had received clearance from the FAA the previous week to begin the fourth phase of its certification campaign that will focus on systems demonstrations.
