Here's another unique feature of Bonfire. One account, many profiles.
When you create an account, you can create multiple profiles, each with it's own unique followers, content and settings (and emojis!).
Ownership of profiles can be shared with others. A moderation team, a news publication […]

How to Think Unlike Humans? | Antikythera
"How do we maintain a sense of individual agency when our connection is increasingly distributed?"

The image shows a user interface for adding custom emojis, including fields for labeling the emoji, choosing a shortcut, and uploading an image. There is also a section displaying existing custom emojis.
Fun fact (really). The Bonfire fediverse platform allows each **individual user** the ability to upload their own set of custom emojis.
There seems to be no limit to how many, tho I'm sure there will have to be as it gets more popular. And it will. Looking snazzy!

@rmounce yeah, maybe we could offer crossreff/datacite integrations for orgs that already have active memberships (eg universities that setup an instance) so that can publish DOIs by their own prefix…otherwise partnership with @rogue_scholar for those communities that has not any membership…

@rmounce ps datacite seems much more expensive than crossref…

#openscience We're starting to experiment with generating DOIs for articles in Bonfire. We're considering using @crossref as the initial provider, but we'd love to hear your thoughts—is Crossref the right place to start, or would you recommend a different service?

DMs from people you don't follow are still received and saved […]
