Who knew you could sell images of copyrighted characters with some nonsense AI text above for Β£3/pop!

(And the fact that people are paying for this instead of just saving the image from the page is wild.)

You use the percentage rate from free to paid. So if a paid account is worth $100 and 20% of free convert to paid, free account is worth $20

This is what a real customer journey looks like. Note how your tracking/attribution tool would not show it this way at all:

Here are some of the marketing stats we track every month for my SaaS.

If you don't know how much a lead is worth, how will you know how much you can spend to acquire it?

Note how we track LTV but also 1mo and 3mo mark. Bootstrappers have to be careful with using LTV only.

A huge downside of thousands of customers if you feel gun-shy about making changes.

If you change the way something is phrased in the interface, you could confuse everyone. So you stop making improvements.

This is something to actively fight, and also why little guys can compete with big guys.

It's bonkers that teams distributed across the world (asia, europe, north america) having regular calls has become a normal thing to do. This is not the way.

No way am I removing you from my email list voluntarily.

If you want off, unsubscribe.

But if you signed up for my content I am not "cleaning you", I am sending until the bitter end!

The SMARTEST thing an entrepreneur can do is pay themselves very well along the way.

I have a friend whose business was decimated by SEO changes.

But they've been taking home and investing a super healthy 6-figures every year for years. Instead of going into desperation mode they were fine.

YOUR EMAILS ARE MEANT TO BE IN THE PROMOTIONS TAB.

They are promotions.

For your business.

That's where they belong.

Don't stress about it.

I beg of you, try running google ads for high-intent keywords for your #SaaS.

It is THE instant, easy shortcut to guarantee that people actively searching for you know that you exist. You are overthinking the spend.

Almost none of the questions I see people asking online about their business. . .

will make any measurable difference to their business at all.

Interview me by asking one question at a time to ensure you fully understand the context.

Then provide:
1. Five comprehensive solutions to address this challenge
2. For each solution, outline key implementation considerations
3. Potential obstacles and mitigation strategies for each approach

If you want to lower your churn . . .

The most impactful thing you can do is improve your product.

If you know what would make your product more valuable, put resources into building it.

If you don’t, put resources into finding out.

We have this as one of our company rules:

"Do not access slack on your phone! We want you to be fully present, prepared and focused when you're signed on to slack."

Are you team slack on your phone or no?

Fix it or Flag It
See some work that isn’t up to par? A badly organized system? Out of date documentation? A typo? Fix it yourself or flag it. Don’t just let it go by.

A-Synch and Accessible
Our team works different hours so all resources and information must be accessible and well-organized. Our team needs to be able to find it themselves vs asking someone where it is.Β

From Our Paperbell "How We Work" Handbook:

Tiny Team, Big Results
Keeping the team small has many second-order benefits like easier communication and less bureaucracy. We keep the team as small as possible, and always default to project-based specialist freelancers first.Β

(Yes, I specifically instruct people NOT to play devil's advocate who work at my company. I hate useless arguments where people don't even believe what they're arguing for.)

09.04.2025 14:12 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Don't Do This πŸ‘Ž
- Be rude or insulting, uncomfortable does not mean disrespectful
- Play β€œdevil’s advocate” - voice your genuine concerns, criticisms and disagreements but don’t argue or poke holes just for the sake of it

09.04.2025 14:12 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Do This πŸ‘
- Share feedback candidly and quickly
- Dive into something you want to learn, even if you feel intimidated by it
- Speak up when you see something that isn’t going well, you don’t have to have the solution
- Have the tough conversation now to improve things every moment after

One of our Paperbell values:

πŸ‘‰ Get Uncomfortable To Improve πŸ‘ˆ

Sometimes it's uncomfortable to give critical feedback, to learn a new skill yourself, or to reach out to ask for help. Practice getting uncomfortable to produce exceptional results.Β
