ooh that's triggered some memories... waaay back with 1:12 RC when they switched from NiCd to NiMh and a lot of the chargers wouldn't work with old packs. IIRC NiMh has a much smaller indication it's charged hence making it harder to detect. But if you are only trickle charging it might not matter.

That with the reflection of the beige box in the side panel scrambles my brain with all the perspectives. It makes it look like the old PC is directly behind 😵‍💫

IMO Voodoo2 + nVidia 6800GT is the way forward, it ticks so many boxes, for me at least.

I wager that Dexters Lab is the only place you can find HD Doom running on a Pentium 3 Tualatin and Windows 98 while a Xeon runs Windows XP and Alcohol 120% along side a Quantel Paintbox Express. Prove me wrong...

yea, but the G200/400 was never a 3D performer... i only ever used one for business / work use with Windows apps. Not gaming. A G200 + Dual Voodoo2 worked pretty well though.

FREE! Sony PWW-EX1 camera (broken). I used this camera as a live SDI source but it doesn't output a valid SDI signal now. Other damage: broken plastics, LCD doesn't work. It does power on, menus/controls work, you get a picture/audio in the viewfinder. I can post it for the cost it takes to ship.

Watched this morning; what a weird mashup of film and digital that ends up making a picture inferior to both film and digital. Yet another crowd funded project that should never have existed if you ask me!

I remember when the entire operating system for my PC totalled 2.4Mb on two 1.2 Mb 5.25" floppies. Now my phone needs to download 1300Mb to update itself. 🤯

The #Quantel EM2077-76 Backstore 2. a later revision card for the Quantel Graphic Paintbox 2, 384 32mbit DRAMS for a total of 1.5Gb memory, it dates from around 1996/1997. The GPB2 didn't do video graphics it did print graphics in CMYK and needed a LOT of memory!

After resurrecting the Graphic Paintbox 2 at the weekend we now have a known global list of 24 working Quantel Paintboxes. An amazing achievement by the Quantel community! Notable omissions though are the Quantel Editbox and Henry, several do exist but unfortunately are non-working at this point.

Helping out a friend in Cologne fixing their #Quantel Graphic Paintbox 2. It has been broken for over 11 years! 😲 Quantel only ever sold 38 of these machines so it is a real privilege to see one running.

For some reason i get an amazing signal here, no idea why 😉. #koln #cologne
