He told me: ‘Your father was brutally beaten. They broke his teeth and ribs, cut off part of his ear, and fractured his fingers gradually for their amusement,’” Qassam Barghouti wrote. “What am I supposed to do? Who do I turn to? We’re living this nightmare every single day… My God, have mercy on us. My father is now 66 years old. My God, where will this generation find its strength?” 🎥 Barghouti’s family launched a global campaign last week urging his release. More than 200 prominent cultural figures, including writers, actors, musicians and public figures, have signed an open letter supporting the call. Actor Khalid Abdalla also spoke to Sky’s Yalda Hakim about the renewed push.

No one should be suspended or fired just for exercising their First Amendment right to speak out.

I’m joining my colleagues in calling for these EPA employees to be reinstated immediately so they can keep doing the good work our country depends on.
