Obvious ai manipulation on the left. Original photo by David Batcheller on the right. Look at the wings, feather shape, head, neck and bill shape, lack of tail etc. This is way more than a filter and absolutely destroys the joy and wonder of the original.

So loads of people are sharing an obvious ai "glow up" of an actual photo. I never share ai stuff even to dunk, but in this case I'm sharing a comparison to show the problem. We have to stand against this slop at every level or it becomes normalised. They want us to stop caring. See alt text.

The day after we put the final touches on issues #88-91 of “Swamp Thing”, news broke about the passing of Tatjana Wood, the original colorist on the series. Tomorrow, March 2nd, would have been Tatjana’s 100th birthday. Let’s raise a glass to one of comics’ originals.

A beautiful mural on the side of a tall building in Tehran, Iran of an American flag hanging down in a way it's not usually hung in the US. Instead of stars on the blue field it's skulls, and the red lines each have a bomb at the bottom, making the red lines seem very much like the rockets' red glare, like from the song. It says in English DOWN WITH THE USA. It's beautiful, and it is real.

RIP legendary DC Comics colorist TATJANA WOOD who just passed away at age 99. Tatjana had decades long runs on OUR AT WAR/SGT. ROCK and SWAMP THING, and in 1973 succeeded Jack Adler as cover colorist. Tatjana colored almost all of DC's covers from '73 until the end of 1983 when the covers were split between the two of us, with Tatjana coloring the westerns, war and mystery/horror covers while I did most of the superhero titles.
