Pixar’s Pete Docter Says Queer ‘Elio’ Storyline Was Axed Because “We’re Making A Movie, Not Hundreds Of Millions Of Dollars Of Therapy” Pixar Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter explained the animation company's decision to ax a queer storyline in last year's Elio.

If you're a powerful creative person, a moment will always arrive when you can do something a little brave that will help people, or refuse to. The book I'm working on right now is in part a history of who did what. All I'll say about this is, it never gets forgotten. deadline.com/2026/03/pixa...

Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)
Watched by Branson Reese 28 Apr 2022

Abrams isn't a man so much as he's an avatar of cultural entropy. If you make something popular enough eventually you will die or sell it off and and a person in thick rimmed glasses whose main artistic vision is that he loves to have meetings will take it and sandblast it until it's nothing. I hate to see this happen here but maybe it's good that this happened. Maybe every franchise should collapse into a version of itself that makes shareholders nod and shake each others' hands. We should learn to speak in a language that rich people who don't dream can't comprehend.

Just found out that Liam Dann and Corin Dann are brothers. Holy smokes, they're like the Barretts of business journalism.

I remember looking up battery costs and capabilities 20+ years ago. Even the wildest forecasts for 2026 wouldn’t have been as optimistic as the present state turned out to be.

A lot of the time, when people say, "The audience didn't laugh enough." I translate that to, "This production could not afford to properly mic the audience."

Here is another way of approaching it - for the 0.1% (318) most rainy known hours at Auckland Airport (in north of country, has long run of data), when were those hours distributed through time.

Wild to think that Al Gore wanted to save the world, but everyone thought he was too dull. And a real lesson for boring smart people to effectively kidnap any charismatic person that they know to be their representative.

Turned the oven on while the pav was cooling. Perhaps the greatest crime a person can commit on Christmas day. Will be calling the police on myself and accepting the consequences.
