I'm told that the East Coast of the US (including Boston) will experience a rare event, the selenelion when the rising sun and the setting moon will be visible at the same time, at around 6 AM Tuesday March 3.

I'm going to start citing Bowers whenever I'm asked to produce a timeline for a grant application.

At the Pru yesterday I watched one group of kids riding bikes, and then another group riding skateboards. There was also a board game meetup in one of the open seating areas. We really need indoor non-consumer spaces, and spaces where young people can just be.

I’m decorating my work cubicle with prints featuring the first letter of my name, and one of these blotters would have been nice to have

What a shame that WorldCat now requires users to log in before they can interact with records. I like to send people to WorldCat when I reference a book, so they can find it at their local library. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn’t require a loginβ€”but now WC does.

I understand the thinking behind it, but wow, that looks weird. Also, I can see that accomplishing the opposite of what is intended.

Escape Pod sensory deprivation tanks look scary and don’t have fancy features, but they are the best for shutting out the world and just floating.

It’s so common to come across the assertion that books were luxury objects exclusively for the elite in the Middle Ages that I want to guest curate a massive exhibition called β€œMeh-nuscripts: Books for the Many,” which features just workaday or unremarkable objects.
