The first PubMed alternative they list is Medline. Where is Medline gonna come from if the NLM is defunded?

Great databases, but they aren't freely available to researchers and clinicians from under-funded institutions.

The article is not "from the NIH". It's indexed in PubMed. The NIH does not specifically endorse every article in the database. Further, the article simply suggests the FDA review its opioid policies. It doesn't suggest the FDA is solely responsible or 'purchased' as you claim.
