T-minus 30 days! This move is bittersweet—we came with much excitement and hope and while it wasn’t all bad, our memories of this place will always be clouded by the passing of family friends right after we moved. Looking forward to new happier memories to make ahead.

Definitely not. My brain hurts even thinking of that. We have huge numbers of books by category/genre so this would make it even harder to find similar titles or books by the same author.

25 boxes of books packed—not done yet. Thinking it may be 45 by the time they are all packed. The last house (with the library) we arranged by Library of Congress. Now I’m leaning toward Dewey Decimal so authors’ books are roughly staying together. Thoughts? #booksky #librarians #homelibrary

Morning solitude birdwatching. Looking forward to a different perspective in a month, but moving (even when welcomed) is exhausting and stressful.

Love the first outing in new shoes! They make you run faster, right? Remembering my best friend who would have loved shoes this color.

Actively working to start the day calm and at peace by bird watching from my sunroom. This morning have seen cardinals, blue jays, bluebirds, and a host of smaller songbirds.

Stayed up reading A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. The first time in a very, very long time that a book has simultaneously enthralled me with the writing while I was gutted at the story. Equal in parts horrifying and beautiful. Ugly-Cried through at least 50%. 5⭐️ highly recommend. 😭
