I'm astounded that not once in this thread (that I've seen) is Stephen Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle mentioned. The original trilogy of Taliesin, Merlin, and Arthur hooked me in, but it's continued with Pendragon and Grail. Outstanding series.

Lots of breeds can have the tricolor pattern or others (corgis, hounds, terriers, etc), but the Swissies and Berners are supposed to always be this pattern. In Greater Swiss, the tricolor tends to disappear when crossed with other breeds with dominant colors.

The general tricolor pattern is always the same, but the facial markings can change a bit as pups get older. Some have lots of white, some don't. One of Tanq's littermates was born with a perfect black heart in the middle of the blaze on top of her head, but it turned into a dot a few months later.

Agree with the message 100%. It's just really sad and demoralizing that a publisher with access to cover artists etc chose to use an AI image depicting the most convoluted card catalog ever, stark concrete background, and no actual library shelves in the process...

Not watching stupid games. Just got home from a weight pull with our two Greater Swiss. One (in my profile pic) did pretty okay (pulled 2020lb a couple of times, 16.5x his body weight), the other...didn't. Flipped off a cybertruck on the freeway just because. Might make shortbread later, idk.
