Congrats to all authors from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore “A. Gemelli” (IT); Research into Inflammatory Arthritis Centre Versus Arthritis (RACE); Newcastle University; GSK (UK); Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School,Boston; Broad Institute of MIT (USA) on the their findings!

The hypocaustum below represents the underlying blood stream from where DCs infiltrate the synovial tissue (holes in the floor and fallen mosaic pieces show connection between the two levels) determining the three conditions analysed.

On the cover: a team of archeologists unravelling the pattern of a mosaic floor in an ancient domus romana. The colorful tiles pattern represents the newly characterised composition and localization of diverse DC/T cell populations found in the synovial tissue (mosaic floor).

Authors investigate the roles of synovial tissue (ST) myeloid DCs in health and active or remission stages of rheumatoid arthritis using a combination of scRNAseq, spatial transcriptomics and DC/T cell co-cultures, and infere functional features of ST-DCs in immune tolerance and disease.
