Refusing at all to do backgrounds, complex poses, different body types, etc. will lead to stagnant art.

However, charging to draw something you're not confident you can do is risky.
The end result may look bad, or it may need lots of do-overs and extra time.

It really can’t be emphasized enough: reposts help a LOT. They are genuine, REAL support. This isn’t Twitter, where links out, images, and self-promo get buried. Word-of-mouth matters here, it makes a genuine difference.
