It is truly one of the cruelties of history that one man, so malicious, damaged, base, and mean could be put in a position to stamp so many human affairs. A living, breathing demonstration that the office of the presidency was a mistake.

Trump, seeking executive power over elections, is urged to declare emergency
Activists who say they are in coordination with the White House are circulating a draft executive order that would unlock extraordinary presidential power over voting.
They're putting the pieces in place to allow Trump to do what he has wanted to do all along: large-scale vote suppression, specifically aimed at the 2026 midterms. If not through Congress, through emergency powers secured through the fiction of "Chinese interference" in 2020. π§΅

An early version of the proposed draft, obtained by The Washington Post, cites a 2018 executive order that declared an emergency to impose sanctions on foreign entities targeting election infrastructure. President Joe Biden repeatedly extended that emergency, and in 2024, the Treasury Department used the order to place Iranian and Russian entities under sanctions.
βThere is now clear and compelling evidence from court cases and forensic analysis that these threats have not been mitigated but instead have intensified,β reads the proposed draft, dated April 2025. βThis constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.β

Ticktin attended the New York Military Academy with Trump and was part of his legal team that filed an unsuccessful 2022 lawsuit accusing Democrats of conspiring to damage him with allegations that his 2016 campaign colluded with Russia.
βBut here we have a situation where the president is aware that there are foreign interests that are interfering in our election processes,β Ticktin went on. βThat causes a national emergency where the president has to be able to deal with it.β
The emergency would empower the president to ban mail ballots and voting machines as the vectors of foreign interference, Ticktin argued."
"Pro-Trump activists who say they are in coordination with the White House are circulating a 17-page draft executive order that claims China interfered in the 2020 election as a basis to declare a national emergency that would unlock extraordinary presidential power over voting."

tweet from Mike Cernovich: "The hatred on display last night cannot be unseen. It is not enough to bankrupt this country. They want to murder every Republican man, woman, and even child. This is an existential crisis."
Straight from the far right mega-influencers. When Democratic elected officials refuse to stand at the President's beck/call, it can only mean "they want to murder every Republican man, woman, and even child". An extremely normal thing to assume that reflects a very healthy political lens.

Wait. You mean to say the party with people offering "Roman salutes" and singing songs of blood/soil and brandishing crusader tattoos and stanning Hiter in groupchats and posting Sonnenrads in campaign ads has a Nazi problem? The hell you say.

There's a direct line from this to creating an AI tool (*cough* Einstein) that simply does all your homework/essays/discussion posts for you. Because, really, what's the point of "training" these inefficient humans to have "skills" or "knowledge"? Wouldn't that "food" be better used elsewhere?

Itβs so destabilizing watching as other western countries start to try and grapple with the far ranging consequences of the Epstein files and the attack on democracy by wealth while America continues to spiral into the abyss and nothing is done to stop the people in power with ties to Epstein.
