Former President Jimmy Carter said peace is doing, not waiting.

On this International Day of Peace, I reminded 5th graders at Philadelphia Hebrew Charter and in East Falls that peace takes hard work, compassion, and persistence—and their energy gives me hope.

This afternoon my team and I volunteered at Philabundance, helping get fresh food and groceries to families across our community. I’m grateful for the daily work Philabundance does to make sure our neighbors never go hungry.

DC33 workers are always there when Philly needs them. My fellow Philadelphia Caucus House Democrats and I stand in full solidarity as AFSCME DC33 fights for fair wages and benefits.

Because no city worker working full time should have to depend on public assistance!
