This is just a fantastic interview with Tony Gilroy. If you liked Andor—which you should, because it's amazing—give it a read.

Just gonna point out again (and again and again) that Grok and X and other apps that create this kind of sexual imagery are still available on the Apple App Store by Apple, the safest place on Earth (citation: Apple marketing materials).

If you had told me in the late '90s that the company I bought books from online would be pushing a surveillance police state on us in a few decades I for sure would have thought you were paranoid.

Saw Close Encounters in the theater, too, but did not wait in line next to anyone famous. Can't remember what the first live-action movie I saw in the theater was. Maybe Bedknobs and Broomsticks? Saw Bullitt in a little theater with wood seats on Block Island but a few years after it came out.

Oreo Marvel "Stuf of Legends" cookie bag featuring a note that says "Introducing Color-Changing Creme!"

When I first opened these I thought "The creme doesn't change color. It's just blue." It wasn't until the day after consuming some that I realized where the color-changing property would manifest.

To my mind, this is exactly the right take. AI has a number of useful applications but is being vastly oversold in order to make venture capitalists and AI company executives and investors richer. We saw it with bitcoin, NFTs and the blockchain and we are seeing it again but on an even larger scale.
