18.11.2025 22:15 β π 40 π 11 π¬ 2 π 14I was at the game the last time we got knocked out of the World Cup. I'm so SO happy that a new generation of fans will get to go to one and enjoy the amazing atmosphere. (And then the crushing defeat but that doesn't really matter, you still have a party π)
18.11.2025 22:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is great, hard to disagree with. But I do wonder if we need both and they are probably different people - the people who are great soundbite communicators for TV ripping in to people in a debate and ALSO the rabble rousing firebrand person who can set a room on fire. Deploy people appropriately

Yep, same. I'm in a very safe Labor seat but would love an independent
24.06.2025 11:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Exactly this! I ended up with my vote going to Labor but they were FAR from my first choice. The lesser of two evils is still two evils!
23.06.2025 10:32 β π 19 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0itβs even more demoralizing when the history youβre repeating is history you were around for the first time

"The Albanese government" or to give it its full title "The Albanese government has bowed to pressure from <insert corporation here>"
22.12.2024 23:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Annual appreciation post for Dave and iOS Dev Weekly - what a great resource for our community π I recommend this as the place to start for all developers, not just mobile devs.
22.12.2024 22:59 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Well, Paul, I have some news for you that you might want to take a seat for π
14.12.2024 21:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I worked with these guys during Covid on vaccine data when I did my AusVax initiative. 2 things:
1. So proud of them π
2. They started this when they were ~14 years old and social media was a big part of their success. Next year, that would be illegal. Insane!

Good idea, I'll forget to do this so just have the book I was handed on my first day of work in the City of London as a naive 22 year old π

It's amazing. And they get promoted. Wonderful stuff all round.
19.11.2024 02:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A scan of a double-page ad from the August 1968 issue of "Seventeen" magazine. The ad is titled "out of this world knitsβ¦ inspired by 2001: a space odyssey". The ad is for a range of clothing by US clothing company JP's, as a promotional tie-in for the movie β2001: A Space Odysseyβ by Stanley Kubrick. The ad shows four female models wearing 1960s shift dresses in red and white, paired with white tights and colored shoes. Some of the models are wearing hats. In the background is a large photo of the Moon. The modelsβ limbs are bent in unusual angles, as if they are floating in space above the Moon. Down the side of the ad is a list of American retail stores that stock the JP's clothing range.
To celebrate having a decent place on the Internet to post things again, I'm belatedly sharing a bunch of research scans from typesetinthefuture.com/book π

Yeah I set this up just to grab the username ages ago π Hope you are well.
