and of course since it makes no sense, it certainly doesn't leave any GOOD impressions. the triggers can be so fucking hard to explain or prevent. people feel like they have to walk on egg shells with you. it's awful.

i can't blame anyone for not wanting/being able to be around that.

its the worst, knowing the fight-or-flight isn't appropriate or that it makes no sense to the situation. but you cant do anything. your amygdala takes over because that part of your brain activates faster than your prefrontal cortex. trying to go against that? you feel like you are fucking dying

the perpetual tug of war of, "i want friends, i really like these people" vs "im terrified of everyone and they can't find out how sensitive and fucked up i am" is so irritating. because i know all these thoughts/behaviors are irrational but it doesn't matter! because cptsd fucks your brain up!

i get told im strong and it feels like a joke. i don't WANT to be here. all i've gotten is utter misery and feeling like i'm not even human. what can you do about cptsd? all you do is fucking manage it. decades of work. just to what, still not function half as well as everyone else?

what do you do when you've been broken from the start and feel like your existence is shameful and repulsive. everything blows up in your face. when everyone you know and like disappears. ive had it beaten into me so deeply. being alive feels fucking wrong. i constantly wonder why im still here.
