4 years of art trend
2021 I started taking digital work more seriously after years of only using it as a tool. In return its given me a renewed passion for art and another avenue of which to practice my discipline. I’ve improved faster than I imagined and slower than i’d have liked. #illustration

I honestly just don’t really have much to say, there I said it. I find my own blathering on kind of annoying, and even more- so talking to no one, and its a lot to keep up with another app for no reason. So i’ll go back to lurking ☕️

Anyway I really want to re commit myself to becoming fluent as I feel it’s a small way of gaining back something from colonization. To all the PR kids in the US who don’t speak and are insecure about it- we aren’t alone in that feeling 🇵🇷❤️

My mom often chastised me for not knowing it, which gave me a complex about learning it, and made me insecure about speaking with her. Surprisingly though, I have picked up more over the years than I thought and can understand more now than I ever have before especially reading it.

It’s been oddly comforting to know that i’m not the only child born in the states (with a Puerto Rican parent), who doesn’t speak Spanish. My mom was the bread winner in our family and so she didn’t have time to teach me. I’m also the youngest of 4 children.
