We're excited to partner with FOSS United for FOSS Hack 2026!!

It's India's largest FOSS hackathon, running March 1-31, hybrid, bringing together students, professionals, and open-source communities to contribute across code, design, documentation, hardware, etc.

After wrapping up, headed to @mozilla.ai x @fossunited.mas.to.ap.brid.gy "Owners, Not Renters" meetup at the Takshashila Foundation.
Stepping into an unconference after co-organizing was a good reset!!

Detailed blog post on all this coming soon...

Pitched FOSSHack by @fossunited.mas.to.ap.brid.gy.

Building community in person >>> a google form being floated around for volunteers, even if we still end up using that for the conference...

Been wanting to get @scipyindia.bsky.social and BangPypers in the same room for a while. Last saturday, it finally happened!

Three talks, 2 lightning talks and getting people excited to contribute / volunteer. That's why we keep pushing for offline meetups :)

That's why devrels (and similar roles) are so crucial to this. Nothing groundbreaking, but man, it hits different when it happens to you.

An anecdote from building in the open: someone sees your work on @github.com, reaches out with a need, you build for it, they test the branch (not even after it's on main) and confirm it solves their problem. That direct feedback loop is genuinely fulfilling!

Felt good to be back in Delhi after a long time.
Slides here: haleshot.github.io/talks/rust-d... if you want to check them out.

First meetup talk of the year, hopefully many more to come :)

@cocoindex.bsky.social has a Rust-powered execution engine with Python bindings,so you get the performance without leaving Python. @agriyakhetarp.al was the one who told me about Rust Delhi in the first place, so glad I didn't skip this one.

The meetup was at Aftershoot's office (great dogfooding)!

The usecase I spoke on, was around tracking meeting notes > action items in a knowledge graph ( @neo4j.com ); something I'm actually planning to use for @scipyindia.bsky.social's planning (hoping to help co-organize this year...), which is what got me to submit this talk in the first place.

Kicking off 2026 with Rust Delhi Meetup #12, and what a way to start. Thanks to Guinnes Singh for accepting my talk proposal & being a great host throughout.

I presented on building incremental data pipelines with @cocoindex.bsky.social, a framework I've been contributing towards.
