This morning, I was stunned to see my yucca gloriosa blooming. It took 12 years! Love that raspberry color on the petals.

Washington state bans invasive ivy Washington state has banned the sale or transport of English ivy and its cousin, Atlantic ivy. The leafy holiday decorations are also aggressive invaders of Northwest forests.

This is great news! We have trees that had ivy during previous owners. It defoliated branches, which broke and fell. It's still a big problem. People don't know its dangers & nurseries still sell it. Now that's about to change. Yay!

I see. Yeah, probably not. Also, not sure if you literally meant topsoil, but topsoil would definitely be heavier than potting soil. Good luck, looking forward to seeing what you grow!

Yes, try that. If you take a handful of soil, squeeze it, and it stays in that shape without crumbling, then the soil is probably too heavy/wet. Also, any container will heat up faster than plants in the ground so they may need more water in summer. And because they drain more, they need more food.

Do those buckets have drainage holes? If so, you can plant quite a few things. 😊
