"phew!" peter says. "missed by just a hair-" "GET RID OF THAT THING!!!" edgar shouts, as dracula hits the floor. lorrimer laughs nervously.

1. peter is surprised to run into lorrimer on the balcony at sunset, smoking. "ah, helsing! there you are". "evening, peter", lorrimer says. "you smoke?" "mh. it soothes my nerves." 2. peter approaches, pulling a cigarette from a cigarette case. "may i join you?" "certainly", lorrimer replies, reaching into his jacket for a lighter. "here, allow me-" 3. without warning, peter leans in, lighting his cigarette with the tip of lorrimer's- catching him off guard. 4. "thank you, lorri!" peter says, leaning back on the balcony railing. "uh, o-of c- any time-", lorrimer manages to stammer out, incredibly flustered.

one drink is all it takes. you drink once, you don’t have wasteland of reality or a companion with you and Harry gets murdered.

it's all about the presence of witness, because Harry’s humanity has already been signed away. it's not about the drinking. it's much pettier than that. Harry can drink in every other ending, as long as he has a witness he’s safe. it's about how the system conducts itself when it’s being watched.

its a sham. the outcome is already set in stone. if you have the murder weapon, the confession, the motive from Dros? none of that actually matters.
