A medium sized eagle soars in the blue Spanish sky. It has long black primary flight feathers, a reasonably long squarish tail which is black striped across the end. The rest of the feathers are a mix of black and browns, with a solid pattern at the leading part under wing and along the body. The feet are tucked under the body and when landed, show as fluffy legs. Typically it has the hooked raptor beak with a splash of yellow at the top. Taken near parque El Hondo, Alicante, Spain.

Magnificent Booted Eagle spotted circling overhead this weekend. One of the good ID pointers is the landing lights on its shoulders, good luck seeing that, unless you are on a mountain! And yes, they have fluffy legs, thus the booted name. #Raptors #birds
