I finally wrote about the big Minecraft ARG that's been making the rounds!

If it was just a King in Yellow adaptation, I probably wouldn't have spent the weekend diving in. But I'm a sucker for a story that's a matryoshka doll of unreliable narrators, with an "ARG explainer" video as top layer.

Time got messed up for me as well. So much has changed (in a good way!) but I sometimes feel like I personally got stuck in January 2020.

d) What people want and need from each other, both in a game but also in real life. As Lin said, we're all desperate to play, desperate to connect and be silly and fun and free together.

So get out there. Throw some buckets! Make some tapes! Slime some mimes! Be gay in a bar!

What did I learn from all this?

a) MMOs are fascinating, complex beasts that complicate the definition of "game" in really interesting ways
b) A little economic incentive goes a long way
c) "It's all capitalism?" "Always has been"
