oh gosh thank you! im excited to see where it takes me over the course of the month. credit also due to my game design prof for giving us a daily creative practice assignment, which i prompted and joyously overscoped

so far we've got:
1) chatting with the guy at the newish corner bodega

Perhaps, I say, it's through looking at the children that I began to think of us postmen as among the men that face death. I was just picturing myself to myself when I go out on my rounds again next week, and the nights are foggy and steamy with mist, and the long row of lamps look miles off in that dreary new road, with broken gaps here and there, and uneven pathways, and bits of ragged fence, and loose bricks to stumble over, and deep quagmires of water and slush in the road, and the houses all lying in the shadow of gardens like wells-with steep flights of steps at the front doors, and the numbers all wrong, because every four houses form a different "terrace," or "villas," or "cottages," and sometimes the road leaves off to go over the way just as you think you've got to the right place.

definitely the best habit i picked up from cr is really leaning into one-on-one side scenes that go something like "im really fucked up abt all the terrible things we've experienced. can we be fucked up together so its a little better?"

alice is missing is a very cool game that gave me so many feelings knives to twist! but i do not recommend leaving 5 min before the end.

definitely still in development... first it was a little too hard, now it's a little too easy, but we've made a lot of adjustments to the overall design over the course of the project which are nudging it in the right direction (hopefully!)

If you haven’t read anything by Ann Leckie, all her books are great. Also Ada Palmers “too like the lightning” series which has So Many Ideas. Darker Shade of Magic is a fave if you like fantasy. I didn’t particularly like Babel but lots of other people did?

Thanks for this- lately I’ve found myself looking for how themes of trust and community care show up in the games I play, seems like an auspicious time of year to dig in further and wonder abt the bigger picture.
