Jersey City is the most ethnically and culturally diverse city in the US. Vibrant and respectful. Lived there longer than anyplace other than my parents. Spoken as a 70+ y.o. Midwest farm boy. Everything about the current administration curdles my soul.

In Liberty State Park (Jersey City) there is THIS statue. It is an American GI carrying a survivor of Hitler’s camps. The inscription reads (in part): “Dedicated to America’s role in preserving freedom and rescuing the oppressed”. My uncle was one of those GIs. I am glad he missed current days.
