It's a simple upgrade really, but the Switch 2 version of Tears of the Kingdom is nigh on transformative. Buttery smooth gameplay, higher resolution, and faster loading times just really help show how much of a brilliant game it is

I think I cursed and stuff so much as a kid that I thought that my kids would never be able to say anything that offended or annoyed me, but now two of them have started saying "bruh" all the time and it's making me fucking crazy.

Switch 2 is a pretty standard no-frills upgrade to the OG, basically refining what made the original great but in a way that irons out some of its flaws (magnetic joycons, better screen, better buttons and sticks). Obviously not as revolutionary but should be a solid base for Nintendo going forward

One thing about having old hardware is that you can dispel myths that have come about re: performance/visuals. There is this meme circling about about older games running incredibly well on launch hw while looking great. Fact is, that was rarer. Games like HL2 ran like dog at launch on top end kit.

I think I've decided that The Death of Peace and Mind by Bad Omens is entering my 'greatest albums of all time' list. It's just brilliant the whole way through with amazing versatility and huge moments. Noah + team deserve the success they've gained imo

I think my next youtube series will be Assassin's Creed series. They're not overly long to just complete and I think it'll be interesting to see how that series evolves and talk about that. Also gives me the excuse to play the games I missed because I have a soft spot for the series still tbh

Monster Hunter Wilds is really good, guys! PC version seems a bit iffy and on PS5 a fair few textures look a bit muddy, but gameplay is peak MH and it has a relatively engaging story to boot!

Honestly the wildest thing about r/NewTubers, the subreddit for aspiring YouTubers, is how many posts are like "okay, I've built my channel, registered for AdSense, downloaded CapCut, built a library of memes, and now I just need to decide what to make videos about."

On TNG era Star Treks, they did stars outside windows using folded-up bits of foil/mylar glued onto black duvetyne, reflecting a bright light. I always thought it'd be fun to simulate it in CG for that very specific vibe and.. it kinda works.

Older games used to mix up gameplay mechanics a lot with unique mini-games and missions with custom mechanics you only used once or twice. Today, it seems five mission types are just repeated dozens of times throughout the course of a game.

I'm always glad to see a good animation film being highlighted. Dreamworks especially seem to have been cranking out some interesting projects recently. Need to see this I think

I got Dragon's Dogma 2 over Christmas, and gotta say it's pretty cool. Sure, it seems like it's pretty much a remake of the first game, but it's so cool to see that very unique game done again with this staggering level of fidelity. Still nothing like it, so I'm pretty satisfied so far!

I actually kinda hate that that video I made on Tales got so popular. There's a fair amount in that video I disagree with now. I suppose I'll have to rectify those changes in the future
