One of my favorite feelings in life is to be completely lost when trying to learn something new and then suddenly you feel it all lock into place when you realise you understand more than you don't. All those connections being made in the background. Feels amazing.

Let me start my tiny campaign for better healthcare by stating how important self-advocacy is. Qualifications: former nurse; business degree; worked in large corporate environment, 3.5 years medical advocacy for spouse; 7 days post op hip replacement.

We need a new law. If you're the president and you want to start a war. First you have to serve a minimum of 4 years in the military.
You don't get to send young men and women off to die when you have no fucking idea what war is all about.

My husband hates when restaurants sing Happy Birthday, so I celebrate his birthday year-round.

How about a law that says a state of emergency declared by the President only lasts until Congress can call an emergency session to confirm it? 48 hours should be long enough in a real emergency. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, Congress met the next day and declared war before lunch.

Another fun one: have a brain fart take someone else's meds by mistake....
