world-altering decisions are being made by a cabal of gambling addicts hell bent on self enrichment no matter the cost to humanity, we should look into that.

What i learned is that I like my social media with an emphasis on the media and less on the social part.

I like reading people's thoughts and sharing my own but i also want to feel like i can put it down and forget about it.

I really enjoyed being on Threads while i could handle it. But it was so so so addictive for me.

I don't know enough about algorithms and engagement but i do know it dysregulated my nervous system and my inner parent had to intervene.

Twitter never felt like that and Bluesky also doesn't.

Hatred is very persistent- you can find it everywhere. We don't have to go looking for it.

Some of us got a lot of practice outsmarting bullies in school. Seems like a useful skill.

Hold this shell up to your ear and listen to the ocean is an incredibly powerful spell.

think about how it's science and magic like so many things. Cupping sound changes the sound, as does moving your head. Sound is waves, and so is the sea.

Angled-down image of a frog perched on a brown leaf and facing left. The frog's principal ground color is black, with yellowish-white stripes running from the nose through the eye and down the back to the legs. A second stripe runs along the lower jaw, terminating at the front legs. The legs are a light brown and there is a triangular flashmark of bright yellow at the top of the thigh. The frog also has some dark brown blobs attached to the lower back - four tadpoles, hanging on until the male frog can transport them to a suitable source of water.

Know what doesn't suck right now, or ever? Nature. This Pale-striped Poison Frog (Ameerega hahneli) was hopping across an open area at our NE Peru field station, on his way to find a suitable wet place to deposit his tadpoles (such as the axils of a bromeliad). #herps #frogs #NaturePhotography 🌿
