09.02.2025 01:16 — 👍 6 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Nerdy project of the day: Adapted a generic car seat sensor to make a binary bed occupancy sensor. This will refine the automation by ensuring that the lights are never automatically turned on when someone is in bed, as well as turning the bed heater on and off based on occupancy rather than time.

24.01.2025 01:28 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Understandable. A pi would be hugely under utilized for this application. Aside from running the web stack, the controller mostly just needs to manage pwm
23.01.2025 21:40 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0No pi involved, just the wemos d1 mini and the ws2812b

22.01.2025 16:16 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The first step is to get a heated mattress pad. I prefer the fitted sheet type to the electric blanket type. Make sure it has an old school power switch, not digital, and turn it on. Plug that into a smart plug, then schedule it to come on 30 minutes before bedtime. Preheated bed!
